Hi, my name is Marie Paulin, real name: Marie Polen.

My biggest passions in life are acting and foreign languages, as you can see clearly in my course of life: Beginning with my exchange year in Japan after graduating from high school, further to drama school, Chinese studies at university, another year abroad in Taiwan up to new acting perspectives.

In Taiwan, I joined a Taiwanese Opera group. Discovering the differences between east Asian and European theatre as well as learning new skills was really interesting, no matter whether it was about singing, acting, fan movements or physical training with some martial arts elements, as Kung Fu or Tai Chi.

One of the biggest difficulties at Taiwanese Opera was the language, as is is not in Mandarin, which I learned, rather than Taiwanese, the local direct, which sounds like a completely different language, making learning the script or understanding the dialogues very difficult.

Still, this experience made it clear that I do not have to be afraid facing new challenges and that I can even perform in unknown languages.

I am also a group fitness instructor and enjoy having my own little stage every session, to interact with the participants and making them smile.
