Christoph Dostal
Short Bio
Christoph Dostal lives and works as actor and on-camera acting coach in both Los Angeles and Vienna (Austria). Through his life on two continents Christoph continuously expands his network amongst the US and the European filmmaking community.
Christoph studied acting at the Vienna Conservatory, at the Ivana Chubbuck studio in Los Angeles and with on On-Camera Acting Coach MK Lewis.
In addition, he received a much sought-after scholarship from the Austrian government department of cultural affairs to study ballet, modern dance and choreography at the renowned London Contemporary Dance School.
At age 22, Christoph was cast for the leading role in Wolfgang Murnberger´s feature film FOR GOD AND COUNTRY. The film was the official Austrian entry for Best International Film at the Academy Awards and Christoph received a Best European Shooting Star nomination at the international Geneva based film festival The Stars of Tomorrow.
Steven Spielberg cast him for his Golden Globe winning TV series BAND OF BROTHERS, directed by Tom Hanks. During his London (UK) years, Christoph first worked as dancer in international dance companies to then focus more on his acting work, which includes the British prime-time TV movies SWORD OF HONOUR (starring Daniel Craig, Channel 4) and THE WAITING TIME (starring John Thaw, ITV). After receiving an invitation to play a series regular role in one of the longest running German TV series, FORBIDDEN LOVE, Christoph moved to Cologne (Germany) to be a part of that show for two years during which he appeared in more than 200 episodes.
Thereafter, Christoph produced THE BONE MAN and THE WAY DOGS DO, two one-man- shows, which he was performing in theaters across the US, Europe, Brazil, Mexico, Georgia, Armenia, South Korea and Vietnam.
Christoph received a Best Actor Nomination at the International Film Festival in Nice (France), starred in the feature film WiNWiN and appeared in many roles for German and Austrian TV- networks - e. g. in M - A CITY HUNTS A MURDERER by David Schalko.
In addition to his acting, Christoph Dostal for five years held the position of artistic director of the Theater Wiener Neustadt - founded in 1794 and one of the oldest and grandest theaters of Austria - where aside from being in charge of the annual theater repertoire, he established a year-round curated film program and was responsible for a substantial rise in ticket sales.
For years Christoph has been passionately teaching On-Camera Acting and The Business of Acting in the International Film and TV Industry.
